Recreating the Zapruder Film

IMG_0724
There are not that many from our generation who has not seen or heard about the infamous Zapruder Film.   Maybe you did not know the name of it, but this is the film that captured the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963.
Wikipedia describes the film as follows:

Memories of Zoar Village–Orbs of plenty

This one is a little late, I know… well, I’ve been busy.  I did see an interesting video on my flight to Dallas about the human brain and how we as humans remember things, tend to forget things, or have the so called “defect” of our memories have the ability of being changed from how the actual experience happened so I thought I should take a few minutes and reflect on our recent tour we took to Zoar Village Ohio on October 17, 2012.

Texas School Book Depository

SchoolbookDepositoryThe Texas School Book Depository (now the Dallas County Administration Building) is the former name of a seven-floor building facing Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas (U.S.). Located on the northwest corner of Elm and North Houston Streets.

Constructed in 1901, the red brick building on the corner of Houston and Elm streets was known as the Texas School Book Depository at the time of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The private firm stocked and distributed textbooks for public schools in north Texas and parts of Oklahoma.

The Living Dead at Zoar Village...Peaceful? I think not...

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to join an up and coming ghost tour organization  "Dark Shadow Ghost Tours" on their premiere tour to the Zoar Village in Ohio just outside of Canton. I have always heard of the haunting in the once peaceful German town and read about other paranormal enthusiast experiences, therefore when I heard that this organization was traveling down, I purchased my bus ticket and joined them.

Recently I have been contacted about a photograph for one of the locations we have within the database.  The contact originally was upset that we did not give proper copyright to the photograph and demanded that we remove it immediately.

Dreams to Reality

Just about everyone has one of those "things that go bump in the night" experiences. Some of us willingly embrace the experience while others have skepticism about the experience being anything more than a leaking faucet or the howling of the wind. I am NOT one of those people.

Live From Dealey Plaza

514184482425742167_anrfK2Qt_cIn cooperation with The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, EarthCam has positioned a webcam in the southeast window on the sixth floor of the former Texas School Book Depository in Dallas. This is the site where an assassin is alleged to have fired the shots that killed President John F. Kennedy and severely wounded Texas Governor John Connally, as the presidential motorcade passed through Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963.

Millermore Mansion

The Millermore Mansion is located in the Dallas Heritage Village. The village is situated in a place called Old City Park that has a collection of historic buildings and homes that visitors can tour. One of those historic buildings is called the Millermore Mansion. The Millermore Mansion is named after the family that lived in the home for over one hundred years. In 1855, a man named William Brown Miller constructed the mansion and finished the completion just as the Civil War broke out. William Brown Miller was one of the most prosperous cotton planters and slave-owners in the Antebellum South.

Pottawatomie Massacre

pottawatomie_massacre

The fifth victim floated nearby as John Brown and his men washed blood from their swords in Pottawatomie Creek. Brown said that the killings had been committed in accordance to "God’s will," and that he wanted to "strike terror in the hearts of the proslavery people." His killings would provoke fear and reprisals -- pushing America one step closer to an all-out civil war.

Queen Mary–Long Beach, California

clip_image001

In October of 2011, members of PANICd took a trip to California. Our first overnight stops was the Queen Mary.   The PANICd organization is not a paranormal society or investigation group, but a group that has the focus of documenting and collecting information about paranormal location and paranormal history.  This trip was a great fact finding mission.
