Using the Text Cleaner in the DBA Editor

When copying text from other websites, we need to be sure that the character set matches what is set for the PANICd.com databases.  If not, we then get those diamonds with the question marks in the text where apostrophes, double quotes, hyphens, etc. should be.   This tutorial will show you how to use the text cleaner to clean up your text for the database.

10 Basic Guidelines for EVP Sessions

Any paranormal investigator will tell you that an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) session is one of the basic investigation techniques that is performed.  There are several ways to approach conducting a session, and of course there are differences of opinions amongst investigators as to which technique works the best.  The problem with finding which technique is the best is due to paranormal research being such an open field, and as an investigator, you need to determine which technique works best for you.

One of the most important items you can take with you on an investigation is a camera.  Even the camera on your cell phone will work trying to capture some evidence.  There are several theories out there that say that film is better than digital, but you can find about the same amount of theories that say digital is better than film.  Either way you look at it, having a camera with you is better than not having one at all.

The Warehouse on the Canal - There is something there

cwoutmain
Last October, Dark Shadow Ghost Tours took a group to the Warehouse on the Canal for Victorian Wake and a ghost tour (and we did a little hunting).  In the basement of the building, there is a paranormal vortex which allows spirits to enter and exit our realm.   Helen (their residential medium) says that there is a spirit name "Lester" who protects then not letting bad spirits to enter the building.

The Haunted Roger's House Added

L_1321

Not only is this location quite interesting, there is still some mystery surrounding the history of the building. There are stories that the house was built in 1884 for a Judge, while public records indicate that it was building in 1910. The problem with the public records is they don't go back farther than 1910. If you examine the foundation of the home, you can tell that it was built before the 1900's; also with the architecture and layout of the house it was a home for a prominent family.

To find out more about this location, as the history is being researched and posted, please be sure to visit and follows the blog site setup specifically for this home.

The Haunted Rogers Rogers House: Review of EVP Evidence

On February 22, 2014, The Dark Shadow Ghost Tours/PANICd core team traveled to the Haunted Rogers House to conduct a preliminary research of the property to see if the location would be a good fit for future tours and to determine if the location should be inducted into the PANICd.com database.
During our investigation we recorded several hours of audio on different recorders and since then Andrea Rufner, a team member, has been reviewing the audio evidence. This is a very tedious process to listen to the different recordings and tag the evidence when something is found.
Based on some of her findings, I have decided to conduct a little interview with her about this location and her experience in the review of the audio evidence. The following is the result of that interview:
